Cosmos Business Systems, in collaboration with Cisco, successfully organized the event “Cyber Resilience & Business Continuity: From Prevention to Resilience for the Future,” which took place on May 20, 2026, at the National Gallery.
The event brought together representatives from the government, the public and private sectors, the academic community, and the technology market, highlighting the strategic importance of cybersecurity, business continuity, and organizational resilience in the face of modern digital threats.
At a time when cyberattacks are constantly evolving and organizations are called upon to ensure not only the protection of their data but also the continuity of their operations, cyber resilience is emerging as a critical factor in strategic planning.
Throughout the event’s thematic sessions, it was emphasized that cybersecurity is no longer an isolated technological field, but a fundamental prerequisite for the availability of critical services, business continuity, and maintaining the trust of citizens, customers, and partners. Compliance with new regulatory frameworks, preparedness for incidents, third-party risk management, and the need for measurable resilience were at the center of the discussion.
Particular emphasis was placed on the role of Disaster Recovery as an integral part of cyber resilience.
As the Minister of Digital Governance, Mr. Dimitris Papastergiou, stated: “We must not overlook the aspect of disaster recovery. No matter how well we’ve designed our systems, we all know that something can always go wrong. The important thing is that, if a small or large-scale cyberattack occurs, our critical infrastructure can be restored quickly and securely.”
During the discussion, it also became clear that technology alone is not enough unless it is accompanied by the right team, expertise, and a relationship of trust with the organization. As IDIKA’s CEO, Ms. Tsouma, noted: “The technological solution is very important, but it is not enough on its own. Equally important is the team that will support you, that will get to know the organization, understand its needs, and build a relationship of trust. Especially in critical services, this makes all the difference.”
At the same time, special mention was made of the education and development of the next generation of cybersecurity professionals. Linking academic knowledge with practical skills and the real needs of the market emerged as a key pillar for creating a stronger and more resilient digital ecosystem.
