Cosmos Business Systems, a member of the Cosmos Group, had the honor of attending the official inauguration ceremony for the Armed Forces’ new, state-of-the-art Cyber Defense Center, held at the Ministry of National Defense’s facilities at the “Papagos” Military Base.
The event took place in the presence of Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, Minister of National Defense Nikos Dendias, Chief of the Hellenic National Defense General Staff Dimitrios Houpis, the leadership of the Armed Forces, and representatives of the political and military leadership, marking yet another significant step in strengthening national capabilities in the critical areas of information technology, cyberspace, and cyber defense.
The new three-story building, with a total area of 2,500 square meters, was constructed with a donation from the Athanasios K. Laskaridis Charitable Foundation and will house the Directorate of Information Technology and Cyberspace as well as Unit 1864 of the Hellenic National Defense General Staff. According to the publicly available data presented, the new facilities have been designed in accordance with advanced international and allied cybersecurity standards, with the aim of supporting the operational needs of the Armed Forces in cyberspace.
As part of the project, Cosmos Business Systems played a crucial role as the contractor responsible for implementing the central data center and other infrastructure, which forms the technological core of the new Center’s operation, control, and management.
The ceremony was attended, on behalf of Cosmos Business Systems, by the Group’s Chairman and CEO, Mr. Dimitris Dafnis, along with the General Manager of Public, Defense and Security, Mr. Alexandros Kourtis, and the project’s Project Manager, Mrs. Zoe Zachari, representing the team that participated in the implementation of this critical infrastructure.
