The bathymetric datasets, covering Greek waters, were downloaded from the EMODnet Bathymetry portal (EMODnet Bathymetry consortium, 2018) and re-analyzed into a single raster file. The spatial resolution of the raster dataset was 0.01*0.01 decimal degrees. Depth was expressed in meters and in positive values. It was prepared by the Institute of Marine Biological Resources and Inland Waters of the Hellenic Centre for Marine Research for use in the i4SEA project.

Kinematic AIS messages provided by NARI (Institut de Recherche de l’ecole Navale), pre-processed for use with machine learning algorithms. After pre-processing (demultiplication and de-noising) of the original AIS messages, this dataset yielded 7,472,443 point locations. The “number” attribute in the original data is used in the processing as an identifier for each vessel.
