Cosmos Business Systems: Digital transformation and upgrade of TEN-T project management for the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport

Following an open electronic tender by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, Cosmos Business Systems has been awarded the contract for the provision of consulting services to assist the Transport Development Directorate (D29) of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport in the implementation of WP5 “Updating and reporting via automated data exchange with TENtec”.

The project aims to provide specialized consulting services to the Transport Development Directorate (D29) for the purpose of developing and implementing a comprehensive methodology, as well as drafting the final and operational specifications for a new electronic tool. This tool will support:

  • The management of TEN-T project data with a spatial dimension
  • The systematic collection and organization of data from all stakeholders
  • A two-way, automated interface with the European TENtec portal, ensuring timely and reliable updates to European systems.

The objectives of this project are:

  • Bringing the country into line with European requirements for monitoring Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T) projects
  • Improving the quality, completeness, and consistency of data submitted to the European Commission via TENtec
  • Strengthening the capacity of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport to plan, monitor, and evaluate strategic transport projects based on reliable geospatial data
  • The creation of an infrastructure that can serve as a “core” for future expansions and interconnections with other government information systems.

Cosmos Business Systems, drawing on its many years of experience in IT, database, and geographic information system (GIS) projects, is serving as a strategic consultant to the Ministry in the analysis of requirements, the design of the methodology, documenting the current state, and formulating technical and operational specifications for the new tool, covering all relevant CPV codes (development consulting services, IT services, database services, GIS).

Regarding this project, Mr. Dimitris Dafnis, Chairman & CEO of the Cosmos Group, stated:

“Our collaboration with the Transport Development Directorate (D29) of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport on a project that is directly integrated into the European data infrastructure for TEN-T projects is a great honor. This is not just another information tool, but a critical link in the chain of planning, monitoring, and transparency for the country’s transportation projects. Cosmos brings its expertise in complex data and GIS projects to ensure that Greece has modern, automated reporting channels to the European Union and a stronger foundation for the future planning of its infrastructure.”
