Cosmos Business Systems: Digital upgrade and enhancement of TEN-T project management for the Ministry of Infrastructure & Transport
Cosmos Business Systems has been awarded, following an open electronic tender by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, a consulting project to support the Directorate of Transport Development (D29) in carrying out WP5 “Updating and reporting via automated data exchange with TENtec”.
The project focuses on providing specialized consulting services to the Directorate of Transport Development (D29), with the goal of creating and applying a complete methodology and preparing the final and functional specifications for a new digital tool. This tool will help:
• Manage TEN-T project data with maps and geospatial information
• Collect and organize data from all relevant stakeholders
• Connect automatically in both directions with the European TENtec portal for timely and reliable updates
Through this project, the following objectives are pursued:
• Alignment of Greece with European requirements for monitoring Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T) projects
• Improvement of the quality, completeness and consistency of data submitted to the European Commission via TENtec
• Enhancement of the Ministry’s capacity to plan, monitor and evaluate strategic transport projects, based on reliable geospatial data
• Creation of an infrastructure that can serve as a “core” for future extensions and connections with other public sector information systems
Cosmos Business Systems, using its long experience in IT, databases, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS), acts as a strategic advisor to the Ministry. It helps analyze needs, design the methodology, document the current situation, and create technical and functional specifications for the new tool, covering all relevant consulting and IT services.
About the project, Mr. Dimitris Dafnis, President & CEO of Cosmos Group, said:
“We are honored to work with the Directorate of Transport Development (D29) of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport on a project linked directly to European TEN-T data systems. This is not just another IT tool, but a key part of planning, monitoring, and making transport projects more transparent. Cosmos brings its experience in complex data and GIS projects to help Greece have modern, automated reporting to the European Union and stronger foundations for future infrastructure planning.”
